INFORMATIoN
For Future Philosophy Majors.
Pondering the question whether to declare a concentration in Philosophy?
Well, here's some..
..veterans' advice:
Being a Philosophy major is elevating in many ways: intellectually, (possibly) morally, plus, one refines one's logical reasoning skills, etc.
Yet, as the sophist Callicles said to Socrates (in the Gorgias (486c)):
"Now, my dear friend, take my advice: stop your Philosophy, take up the Fine Art of Business, and cultivate something that will give you a reputation for good sense. Leave all these over-subtleties to someone else."
So if you are looking for a life-style more akin to the one pictured below, then you might be better advised to change your mind.
